PCHRD underscores ASEAN Integration in its 33rd Anniversary
The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCHRD) will celebrate its 33rd anniversary on 17 March 2015 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.
With the theme, ‘’ASEAN Integration: Challenges and Opportunities for Health Research and Innovation,” the event will focus on how integration of Southeast Asian countries could influence the country’s health research and innovation program.
Expected to grace the occasion are champions of health and health research including Department of Health (DOH) Acting Secretary Janette Loreto–Garin and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Mario G. Montejo. Mr. Luis T. Cruz, Assistant Secretary of ASEAN Affairs-Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will be the anniversary keynote speaker.
Event highlights include the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the Philippine Biomedical Device Innovation Consortium and the awarding of the new Tuklas Lunas Centers.
The DOST-PCHRD is the lead national agency responsible for coordination and monitoring of research activities in the country. Through the years, PCHRD has advocated to foster healthier and more productive lives among the Filipinos through health research and development.
