PCHRD, MMHRDC conduct HERDIN Orientation
To inform potential partner institutions on how to utilize the Health Research and Development Information Network (HERDIN), the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) conducted the HERDIN Orientation on 13 April 2023 at The Verdure, Henry Sy Sr. Building, De La Salle University.
Around 31 participants from the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) member institutions coming from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), government institutions, hospitals, and research and development institutions (RDIs) who are not yet in partnership with HERDIN participated in the orientation.
In collaboration with the MMHRDC, the PCHRD HERDIN team showcased the features of HERDIN, highlighting how the network can assist institutions in managing and disseminating health and health-related research information.
The orientation also featured a comprehensive overview of HERDIN, account types, HERDIN searching and Document Delivery, as well as the demonstration of research, researcher, and institution forms. The session also included a discussion of the steps on how the institutions of the participants can contribute their research in HERDIN.
“The HERDIN Orientation is a crucial first step towards partnering with HERDIN,” said Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, PCHRD Executive Director. “We are thrilled with the attendance and level of engagement from the participants, and we look forward to further strengthening our partnership with the MMHRDC and its member institutions.”
The HERDIN Orientation will be followed by the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the completion of the HERDIN research camp, which will further equip institutions on how to effectively use HERDIN to manage and disseminate their research information.
