DOST-PCHRD announces winners of Capture the Heart in Health Research Photo Contest II

The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) held the “Capture the Heart in Health Research Photo Contest II.” The contest aims to engage researchers who worked on or are currently working on PCHRD-supported research projects to showcase their work through photos .

As a strategy to reach a wider audience, the Council launched a General Public category. Winning photos featured Heart for the Filipino and also depicted the 7Ms of Filipino Core Values:  Malikhain, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, and May Pag-asa.

DOST Secretary Renato Solidum, Jr., PCHRD Executive Director Dr. Jaime Montoya, and Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Leah Buendia led the recognition of winners in an awarding ceremony during the DOST-PCHRD 42nd Anniversary celebration on 25 March 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.

1st Place – Bridging gaps with Science and Technology, Bringing hope to the isolated communities (DOST Regional Office III)

2nd Place – The Beginning of Iday’s First Sound (DOH-EVCHD)

People’s Choice Award – Kasiyahan sa Paglubog ng Araw (Romblon State University – Laboratory Science High School)

PCHRD Executive Director’s Choice Award – Habang May Buhay, May PAG-bASA (Saint Columban College)

This contest is a continued initiative for the HeaRT for the Filipino, an integrated marketing communications campaign which highlighted the role and contributions of health research and technology in making lives better for the Filipino people. It was launched in 2023, during the Council’s 41st anniversary celebration.
